Pairin On Religious Freedom and Christians

The Huguan Siou, Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan today said that Christians in the country will continue to practise religious freedom despite attempts by certain quarters to restrict this.

He was speaking during the 18th Anniversary of the Keningau Diocese in Keningau. Recently, the Christian faith has come under attack from various irresponsible quarters out to create trouble.

Some of the issues were the detention of copies of the Malay-language Bible, confiscation of Christian CDs, attacks on churches, the illegal assembly which scared Christian worshippers outside a church, refusal to allow a Catholic newsletter a renewal of its printing licence, the refusal of a court of law to allow a Christian to officially be declared a Christian, threats of a crusade against Christians by a politician, false accusation that there are Christians who want to set up a Christian state and some others more.

It is hoped that Christians in the country especially in Sabah would not be disillussioned by these developments, but would take Pairin's words to continue practising their faith while praying for greater religious freedom in the state.

Actually, Malay should not classified as a race… it should classify as the people living in the Malay Archipelago, be it Filippino, Bugis, MinangKabau, Dayak, Kadazandusun, Java, Bali, Peranakan, India, Chinese, etc… and should not adhere to any particular religion.
Federal Malaysia wants Malay classified as race because of its name:“Malay-sia”, also with the intention to monopolized the land under this name and assimilate the people into one kind… just like the communist China “tindakan kejam” towards the people in Tibet, East Kazastan, Inner Mongolian and assimilate the place as One United China.
…the federal um NO difference with the power greed corrupted communist China.

As long as the KL central gov ignores the development for rural rakyat after election, and before election will only give some short term “gifts” (tar some important roads, building temporary bridge, Solar project with no-mentenance-option, etc), rakyat will eventually lost their trust …

Furthermore, wasting tax payer $$ in “Projek IC” for phantom voters, land grabs in Bakun Dam project and other kind of programes which makes the East Malaysian felt being niglected and disrespect by the Penisular… this causes E.M'sian against the Malayan based politicians.

Another area is the education text rarely include the unique East Malaysia ethnic culture and history respectfully… which makes the West Malaysian always made fun of saying the East Malaysian are living on tree top! – The E.M’sian (be it bumi, or non-bumi) had enough humiliations from the Penisular (Malay, Chinese, India...) and starts wondering if they were fool by the Malayan & Singapore to form a nation in 1963!
