The New Straits Times reported on February the 3rd that the Home Ministry would be issuing identity cards to foreign refugees registered under the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). Its Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Mahmood Adam said this is to help the authorities keep track of the refugees' whereabouts.
This is a good move, but these refugees should not end up with Malaysian citizenship like many of the so-called refugees from the Philippines in Sabah. The danger that these refugees once issued identity cards, would end up as voters in elections is real, as been proven in Sabah.
It is hoped that our politicians on both sides of the divide check up on the procedures involved in the issuance of identity cards to these refugees. Let us hope that these new batch of refugees would not be competing with us for scholarships, land titles, government jobs, government aid and political posts. We have too many foreigners to compete with as it is. We don't need another batch.

Take this threats as an opportunities of taping the unknown potential human resources.
Even the US foreign policy nowadays are gradually includes the Hispaniac migrants from centeral America into their main stream economic human resources and find ways to expand the business in that region (and avoid economic spat from China).
Key factors are the contributions of international NGOs... how these groups can work together with the locals to monitor & train the refugees becomes a useful work force effectively and transparent without much interrupt from the cetre gov... afterall, the refugees may helps Sbh to be their training hub for expanding new business opportunities from Sbh back to their own regions or countries. (Infact, Japan, Taiwan, S'pore had implemented similar kind of strategies towards their new migrants, so the hub for human resource & edu potential has expanding over the years).
Malaysia is not a signatory to the 1951 UN Convention Relating to the status of refugees and its 1967 Protocol - but thats is not the case as far as refugees from southern philippines in Sabah concerned. The voting Refugees in Sabah are intentionally done by the Federal authorities in a treasonous manner (by issuing Malaysian identity cards/citizenship in which are stated that they were born in Sabah). this is tantamount to violating whats in the Malaysia Agreement - Sabah's sovereignty within Malaysia is doomed.
This will be a curse giving rise to bada bing (sudden destruction or collapse effortless) and all would be in hot soup.
